THROWBACK
THE CALISTHENICS CHAMPIONSHIP 2025
from June 20th to June 22nd in southern Carinthia
ST. KANZIAN – Fitnessbeach am Klopeiner See.
For the fifth time, we – the sports club Union Street Workout Carinthia and Street Workout Austria – organized the Calisthenics Championships, the official Austrian Freestyle Calisthenics Championships, together with our long-standing partners, KSL Marketing GmbH Südkärnten/Lavanttal and the Klopeiner See – St. Kanzian Tourism Board.
Visitor record & international flaire
Thanks to the beautiful, at times hot summer weather on all three event days, we were able to welcome over 3,500 enthusiastic visitors from across Austria and more than 10 nations – more than ever before!
The weekend was a true celebration of movement, community, and top athletic performance. International athletes, spectators, and calisthenics fans traveled from countries such as Germany, Latvia, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, France, and more to celebrate together with the Austrian scene.
Friday – qualification & opening
On Friday, June 20th, the event kicked off with the major qualification round for all participants. A total of 35 athletes (including 3 female athletes) competed to secure a spot in the finals.
For the first time, the competition was divided into three separate categories:
-
Women’s National
-
Men’s National
-
Men’s International
This new structure reflected the growing international interest – marking another milestone in the development of the sport in Austria.
Saturday – spectacular battles & new champions
The main event day on Saturday was marked by thrilling knockout battles, spectacular freestyle routines, and an unforgettable atmosphere. Under the watchful eyes of the international jury, all three final categories were contested – showcasing top-level athletic performance.
In the international category, Turkey rose to the top: Asrınçağ Özdemir claimed first place.
In the Men’s National division, the title once again went to Carinthia – Gabriel Buttazoni was crowned national champion in his debut appearance.
There was also a new national champion in the Women’s National category: 18-year-old Victoria Krammer from Vienna prevailed and secured the title.

Marvin Schuppe, event organiser and head of the sports club Street Workout Carinthia:
"I've been active in the sport of calisthenics for over ten years now – as an athlete, coach and organizer – and I have to be honest: this year was something very special. The feedback from the athletes and visitors was simply overwhelming. It motivates me to keep on burning for the sport together with our club Street Workout Carinthia – not just here in Carinthia, but throughout Austria and beyond. It's incredibly nice to see how much the community is growing and how much calisthenics connects people."
SEE YOU IN 2026 – STAY STRONG, STAY UNITED, STAY CALISTHENICS!
